Clipping: A Beginner's Guide
📌 Who this guide is for
- Indian students (18+)
- Working professionals with 1–2 hrs/day
- Beginners with zero experience
- People expecting instant money
- People unwilling to follow rules
📖 Basics
Put plainly, clipping is licensed content redistribution, where:
- You receive approved content
- You edit it following strict rules
- You distribute it on platforms
- You earn based on performance
🚫 It is NOT:
- Stealing content
- AdSense monetization
- Brand deals
Clipping campaigns are similar to marketing campaigns but organic, the clippers have to take out short clips and edit them in such an order that the clips get as many views as possible, and the clipper is rewarded on the basis of views.
If you can get VIEWS, you will EARN 💸
💰 CPM is cost per mille, or how much you'll get paid per 1000 views.
⚠️ The core goal of a clipping campaigns is to gain positive public attention on the campaigner, or the brand, or the celebrity. So doing cheap edits, or portraying the brand of the prospect in any sort of negative light with cheap skull edits with phonk music, or any sort of NSFW / vulgar content, is condemned. Try to avoid them.
🧠Making money from clipping
Clipping is majorly about getting 3 things right:
- Finding right campaigns
- Right caption and music
- Right editing
🎬 Finding the right campaigns
Before you start finding campaigns you need to know this: high CPM does not always mean a good campaign. A lot of campaigns on Whop have high CPM, but they scam people by rejecting a lot of good reels, or by not approving them while the campaign is active. In either case the clipper is the one who gets screwed.
So try to avoid non-established servers, or just be aware that you don't over-invest into a single campaign.

⚠️ NOT all campaigns are same
There are campaigns with high CPM but getting views on those clips is an impossible task, so CPM is not what actually matters. What matters:
Your expertise
If you used to make music edits, you know which music will perform, so you should do music clipping. If you watch a lot of motivational edits, the startup / tech related campaigns should be your calling. If you watch a lot of brainrot like Speed live streams or gaming videos, you should go towards gaming campaigns or other streamer campaigns.
The content provided
Not only the niche of the campaign but also the quality of the provided content matters. The content of the clip matters more than editing — it is the base over which you'll build your edit. You cannot get views on a trash clip with good editing, but you can get views on a good clip even with mediocre editing.
TAM
Even if the topic of the clip is good, it can get views only if it's massy, i.e. a lot of people can consume (understand) it with the lowest mental bandwidth. If the clip gets complex, or needs a lot of context to be understood, then getting views on it will be unlikely.
🎵 Music and caption
After choosing a clip the most important thing is the right music. There is no shortcut to the right music — you'll have to learn music selection through repetition, after creating a lot of clips and learning from their outcome, i.e. views.
🎧 Some good to haves

✍️ Caption can make or break your reel
- Make it short and simple.
- Font doesn't matter till it's readable.
- Make it massy — never use niche terms, use simple words that even a 10 y/o can understand.
- Use big numbers if possible, to establish authority.
✂️ Editing
If not done properly you could lose a lot of potential views.
- Remove spaces.
- Use B-rolls, might even try to open with B-rolls. People have low attention span.
- Use caption-like edits if possible.
